Hakan was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. After he got his undergraduate degree from Istanbul Technical University, Sakarya Engineering Faculty in Industrial Engineering in 1989, he moved to the States in 1990. Hakan worked in accounting, finance, tax and business management fields in many different industries and he earned his Master in Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix in 1996. Hakan became a tax and business consulting professional with over fifteen year experience. He is the founder of Kaya Tax & Bookkeeping Services, Inc. He is holding an Enrolled Agent (EA) license for tax representation. Hakan is very active with California Turkish American Chamber of Commerce in Southern California and local Society of Enrolled Agents in Orange County.
